Dentures

What is Dentures?

Dentures are an effective solution for restoring the functionality and aesthetics of damaged, worn or completely lost teeth. Modern prosthetic techniques can restore a natural smile, chewing comfort and speech quality.

Consultation and treatment planning

We always start with a detailed consultation before prosthetics. During this consultation, the doctor will check the condition of your teeth and gums, assess the areas of missing teeth, the bite and the quality of the existing teeth. If necessary, an X-ray or 3D scan is taken to assess the exact situation of the bone and roots.

After the diagnosis, we discuss your requirements – whether you need fixed or removable dentures, your aesthetic requirements and your budget. Based on the findings, an individual treatment plan is drawn up with specific stages, costs and deadlines.

This stage helps to ensure that the result is functional, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing for you.

Tooth preparation and impressions

Once the treatment plan is approved, the next step is to prepare the tooth or jaw for the future prosthesis.

How it works:

  1. Preparing the teeth
If crowns or bridges are being made, the doctor will carefully grind down the existing teeth, removing any damaged tissue and creating a stable base for the prosthesis. This process is carried out precisely and painlessly under local anaesthetic.
  2. Impression or digital scan
Once the teeth have been prepared, precise impressions are taken with a special material or a 3D digital scan. This ensures that the future denture will fit perfectly and be comfortable.
  3. Temporary teeth (if necessary)
Temporary crowns or bridges may be placed on the prepared teeth to maintain aesthetics and chewing function until the permanent denture is made.

The impressions are sent to the laboratory where they are used to make the individual denture.

Prosthesis fabrication

  1. Custom design
Based on impressions or 3D scans, an exact model of your tooth or tooth row is created. The shape, size and colour of the tooth are adjusted in the laboratory to ensure that the result looks as natural as possible and matches the characteristics of your smile.
  2. Choice of materials
Depending on the chosen solution and your preferences, the denture is made of high-quality materials: ceramic, zirconia, metal ceramic or acrylic (for removable dentures).
  3. Precision and quality
Every step of the prosthesis is tested to ensure a perfect fit and aesthetic result. If necessary, intermediate trials are carried out to ensure the comfort and appearance of the prosthesis.

The denture fabrication process usually takes 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the type chosen and the complexity of the work.
